GigaChat, Alice and DeepSeek: how to keep all your chats in one place
How not to lose chats with GigaChat, Yandex Alice and DeepSeek: what each service keeps, how to save what matters today, and what Chatsavo will add.
For many people in Russia, the everyday AI kit looks like this: ChatGPT or Claude for hard problems, DeepSeek as a strong free model, and GigaChat (by Sber) or Alice (by Yandex) for quick questions in Russian and tasks where a Russian service matters. Each keeps history its own way, and a week later you're hunting for an answer across three tabs. Here's what each service can do and how to avoid losing what matters.
First, to be clear about Chatsavo: today the extension works on ChatGPT and Claude. Gemini, Grok and Alice are in testing; DeepSeek, Perplexity and GigaChat come later. Below is what you can do today without it, and what will change when support arrives.
What the services keep themselves
As of October 2026:
| DeepSeek | Alice AI | GigaChat | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chat list | Yes, in the sidebar | Yes, history button | Yes |
| Retention | Until you delete it | 14 days without Alice Plus, unlimited with it (Yandex Help) | Not found in public docs |
| Full-text history search | No (LLMnesia) | Not described in help | Not described in help |
| Full history export | No official feature (LLMnesia) | Not described in help | Not described in help |
| Bulk delete | — | No, one chat at a time (Yandex Help) | — |
Two things in this table matter most.
Without a subscription, Alice forgets conversations after two weeks. If you discussed something useful with it — a recipe, a trip plan, an email draft — that chat is gone after 14 days.
DeepSeek has neither text search nor an official export. History keeps growing, and the only way to find something old is scrolling a list of auto-generated titles.
For GigaChat, we couldn't find public documentation on retention, search or history export in the web version. If you know where it lives, tell us and we'll update this article.
How not to lose what matters, today
Until there's one panel for these services, simple discipline helps.
1. Keep one "answer base"
Pick a single place for everything valuable: an Obsidian folder, a Notion database, a document or a repo. One place, not three.
2. Save right away, not "later"
When an answer is useful, move it to your base that same minute. A handy format is Markdown with a short header:
---
source: DeepSeek
date: 2026-10-26
topic: tuition tax deduction
---
## Question
…
## Answer
…
Six months later, your editor's search finds these notes by "deduction" or by the source field.
3. A special rule for Alice
Since history lives 14 days without a subscription, save anything you want to come back to on the same day. Or skim the history once a week and pull out what matters.
4. Name your chats
If the service lets you rename a chat, spend five seconds on it. "Tuition deduction, documents" is easier to spot than "New chat".
5. One question, several AIs
Asking the same hard question to two or three models is useful: the answers often complement each other. But then save them side by side, in one note, labeled by model. Otherwise in a week you won't remember where the good version was.
6. Don't keep anything you can't lose only in a chat
An AI chat isn't storage. A service can change its retention rules, an account can get locked, an interface can be redesigned. If an answer fed into a decision, a contract or your code, it belongs in your own base, not only in the service's history.
What changes with Chatsavo
When DeepSeek, GigaChat and Alice support lands in Chatsavo, they'll sit alongside ChatGPT and Claude:
- one panel next to the native chat list on each site;
- shared folders: a "Taxes" folder can hold chats from DeepSeek, Alice and ChatGPT at once;
- one search across the text of every saved chat, with Russian and English stemming and a site filter (Pro):
tuition deduction site:deepseek,alice
- a local copy: Chatsavo keeps the text of chats you've opened in your browser. So a conversation with Alice stays searchable even after the site drops it at 14 days. In the list it will be marked "Deleted on the site";
- a full JSON data download: "Download everything (JSON)" already exists; files up to 25 MB are restorable in the current version, and export to Markdown and other formats is coming soon — handy for services that don't have their own.
The site filter already understands these names, including Russian ones like сайт:гигачат and сайт:алиса. Today it works for ChatGPT and Claude (site:chatgpt, site:claude), and the other sites will plug in as updates ship.
In what order
We add sites one at a time and test each on live accounts: Russian services change their interfaces often, and support that breaks monthly is worse than none. Gemini, Grok and Alice are in testing now; DeepSeek, Perplexity and GigaChat come later. We're not promising dates: each site ships when it works reliably.
Privacy
Chat texts are stored only in your browser and never sent to our server. Chatsavo makes no requests of its own to AI sites beyond what the page itself loads: it reads what you already see. More in Privacy.
In short
- DeepSeek has no full-text search and no official history export.
- Alice keeps chats for 14 days without a subscription — save what matters right away.
- For GigaChat, we found no public data on retention or export.
- Until there's one panel, a single Markdown answer base and the habit of saving immediately will carry you.
- Chatsavo works on ChatGPT and Claude today; DeepSeek, GigaChat and Alice are coming in the next updates.
