Gemini folders and history search
Gemini is coming to Chatsavo in the next updates. When it's live, you'll see it in the changelog and its RSS feed.
Chatsavo doesn't work in Gemini yet
To be clear up front: today Chatsavo works in ChatGPT and Claude. Gemini, Grok and Alice are in testing; DeepSeek, Perplexity and GigaChat come later. Gemini is first in line.

Why you'd want it in Gemini
Gemini now has Notebooks, and you can collect chats in them. But there's no separate search across your conversation text, and history grows fast. If you use Gemini alongside ChatGPT or Claude, you end up searching each interface separately.
What you'll get in Gemini
The same things that already work in ChatGPT and Claude:
- The Chatsavo panel on the left — folders up to 5 levels, "Pinned", "Recent".
- Drag chats from Gemini's list into Chatsavo folders, or use "Move to…".
- Gemini history search across the text of every message, with word forms and typo tolerance, in English and Russian.
- Jump to the matching message in a long conversation.
- One search across Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude — in Pro, with the "All sites" switch.
site:gemini(Pro) narrows it to Gemini. - Full JSON download — "Download everything (JSON)"; files up to 25 MB are restorable in this version. Export to Markdown and other formats — coming soon.
As everywhere, chat text will stay in your browser only.
What you can do right now
- Install Chatsavo — it's useful in ChatGPT and Claude today.
- Open chatgpt.com or claude.ai, click "New folder" and file your first chats.
- Press Alt+Shift+F and try full-text search.
- Follow the changelog or its RSS feed. While you're on the early zip version, download the new version from /install; once the extension is in the stores, updates will arrive on their own.
While you wait: how not to lose Gemini chats
- Give chats clear titles right away: "Q3 report — outline" is easier to find than "New chat".
- Keep important chats in Gemini Notebooks — once Chatsavo supports Gemini, they'll be easy to open and file into folders.
- If you need an answer for the long run, copy it into your notes. Export to Markdown and other formats is coming soon to Chatsavo, for every supported site.
Questions and answers
When will Gemini work?
In the next updates — Gemini is first in line among new sites. We won't name a date until we've tested it on the live site. The launch will show up in the changelog and its RSS feed.
Will I need to reinstall?
No, but you will need to update. While you're on the early zip version, download the new version from /install and replace the extension folder with it; your data stays. Once the extension is in the stores, updates will arrive on their own and Gemini will simply appear in the list of sites.
Will it cost more?
No. Pro works on every supported site, including new ones. Prices are on the pricing page.
How is this better than Gemini Notebooks?
Notebooks are still useful. Chatsavo adds what they lack: fast search across the text of all chats, jump to the message, and one folder structure for several AIs.
