Superpower ChatGPT is one of the best-known ChatGPT extensions. It has been around since 2023 and does a lot. Chatsavo is younger and narrower: we build folders and search for your AI chats, and we try to do them well. Here is which one to pick, and when.

Where Superpower ChatGPT is stronger
Let's be straight: Superpower has more features.
- Maturity. It is over three years old, with a large audience and polished ChatGPT workflows.
- Sync. Folders, prompts and settings move between devices. Chatsavo has no sync yet: data lives in one browser, and you can download it with "Download everything (JSON)"; files up to 25 MB are restorable in this version.
- Bulk actions. Superpower Pro can delete, archive or move many chats at once. In Chatsavo, bulk actions are coming in the next updates.
- Lots around ChatGPT. Prompt chains, chat notes, an image gallery, a conversation tree, voice input. We don't plan to build these: Chatsavo is about order and search, not everything at once.
If you only use ChatGPT and you need exactly those features, Superpower is a sensible choice.
Where Chatsavo is better
- Search that understands word forms. "Invoice templates" also finds "invoicing template". Typos of one letter are forgiven, and a phrase in quotes is matched as a whole. Russian is fully supported too, including declensions and ё/е.
- Search across the text of every message, not just titles. Click a result and Chatsavo opens the chat and scrolls to the matching message.
- Fast. Across 5,000 chats, search answers in hundredths of a second: in our benchmark on a synthetic set, 95% of queries finish within 9 ms.
- Filters (Pro).

Chatsavo already works in ChatGPT and Claude, and Pro search covers both at once. Gemini, Grok and Alice are in testing; DeepSeek, Perplexity and GigaChat come later.
- Your data doesn't reach our server. Folders and searchable text stay in your browser. Our server receives only your key, a random device ID, the browser and the extension version; chat text — never.
- Price. Chatsavo costs less, and ruble payments arrive at launch. Exact prices are on the pricing page.
- Trial with no card. 7 days of Pro, and nothing gets deleted afterwards.
What Chatsavo doesn't do yet
So there are no surprises after you install it:
- sync across devices (coming later, end-to-end encrypted);
- bulk actions: select a hundred chats and file them at once;
- quick prompt insertion with "/" and a prompt library inside the extension (a prompt collection is on the site at /prompts);
- export to Markdown and other formats (the full JSON download already exists; restore is supported up to 25 MB);
- tags;
- "continue in another model" — move a conversation from ChatGPT to Claude;
- auto-sort rules;
- Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity, GigaChat and Alice.

How to switch
There is no folder import from Superpower yet, so the move is manual. It usually takes about ten minutes.
- Don't remove Superpower right away. Both extensions can run side by side, so you lose nothing.
- Install Chatsavo and open ChatGPT. The Chatsavo panel appears on the left.
- Create folders. Click "New folder" and type a name. For nested folders, open a folder's menu and choose "Subfolder" (Pro, up to 5 levels).
- File your chats. Drag a chat straight from ChatGPT's list into a Chatsavo folder, or open the chat's menu and choose "Move to…".
- Fill the search. Chatsavo saves a chat's text when you open it. Open your important old chats once and they become searchable by text.
- Try it. Press Alt+Shift+F and type a word from an old conversation.
- Keep a copy. Chatsavo settings have a "Download everything (JSON)" button — a full JSON copy of your folders and saved texts; files up to 25 MB are restorable in this version.
Once everything is in place, you can turn Superpower off.
