Search: syntax and filters
How to search chats in Chatsavo: word forms, typos, phrases, exclusions and every filter — site:, folder:, tag:, before:, after:, role:, has:code.
Open search with Alt+Shift+F on any ChatGPT or Claude page, with the "Search chats" field in the panel, or from the Chatsavo icon in your browser toolbar. You can change the shortcut in your browser's Extensions → Keyboard shortcuts settings.
What gets searched
- Titles of every chat Chatsavo has seen in the site's list.
- Message text — yours and the AI's — in chats you've opened since installing. To make a chat searchable by text, open it once.

Stemming works for English and Russian.
Filters
Filters (Pro and the trial) go right into the search box; combine them with each other and with words. Each one also has a Russian alias.

Site names
site: accepts several spellings: chatgpt, gpt, openai for ChatGPT and claude, anthropic for Claude. Gemini, Grok and Alice are in testing; DeepSeek, Perplexity and GigaChat come later; the filter already knows their names (gemini, deepseek, gigachat, alice).
Dates
Accepted formats: 2026-10-26, 2026-10 (from the 1st of the month), 2026 (from January 1) and 26.10.2026.
Tags
tag:a,b — chats tagged a or b. tag:a tag:b — tagged a and b.
Tags are coming soon: tagging chats from the panel arrives in the next updates, and that's when this filter becomes useful.

Results
Results are grouped by chat. Under each title is a snippet of the matching message with highlights and a label showing who wrote it: "you" or "AI". Click to open the chat and scroll to that message; Ctrl/Cmd-click opens it in a new tab.

On the free version, filters in a query don't get in the way: Chatsavo skips them and searches by the words.
If you type a filter Chatsavo doesn't recognize, you'll see "Didn't understand: …" under the field, and search keeps working on the rest of the query.
