AI chat organizers compared, 2026: Superpower, AI Toolbox, Sortbase, NorthLab and more

In a couple of years, ChatGPT folder extensions have multiplied past a dozen, while the AI sites themselves learned much of what people used to pay for. We compared the main organizers on what actually sets them apart: which sites they support, how they search, what's free, and what they cost.

A note on honesty. Chatsavo is our product, and it's in this comparison too. We tried to write about competitors the way we'd want to be written about: with sources, dates and no stretching. Prices were checked on October 26, 2026. Some data comes from the competitors' own sites, some from reviews by other players in the market; each figure has a source. Prices change, so check the product's site before you buy.

First: what the AI sites already do

So in 2026, "just folders" is a weak reason to buy. It's worth paying for what the sites lack: nested folders and tags on top of projects, search with filters and stemming, one search across several AIs, export in the format you need.

Each in brief

Superpower ChatGPT

The most feature-rich organizer for ChatGPT specifically: folders and subfolders, prompt chains and a queue, a community prompt library, a conversation tree map, keyboard shortcuts. If you live only in ChatGPT and want maximum functionality inside it, it's a strong pick.

Weaker on: ChatGPT only, the highest price here, no lifetime plan.

AI Toolbox

Broad coverage (4 AIs), a generous free tier with full-text search and sync, team plans. The "one module per AI" model makes the full set pricey on subscription, but the $199 All Access lifetime settles that.

Weaker on: if you want every AI on a subscription, the price multiplies by the number of modules.

Sortbase (formerly Easy Folders)

Four AIs, folders, prompts, keyword search. Without a subscription, saved items stay viewable.

Weaker on: the trial requires a card, and there's no free version in the usual sense.

AI Chat Organizer and NorthLab Folders

Two tidy, affordable organizers for ChatGPT and Claude with a focus on privacy and local storage. NorthLab has a Safari version; AI Chat Organizer has a large prompt-template library.

Weaker on: two sites; NorthLab's full-text search is Pro-only, and AI Chat Organizer caps daily searches on its free tier.

Echoes

The most sites (seven, per reviews, including DeepSeek and Perplexity), search with logical operators.

Weaker on: a high entry price — a $199.99 lifetime license.

Chatsavo: where we're stronger, and where we're not yet

Where Chatsavo is stronger:

• Russian language. Search understands word forms in Russian and English. Filters (Pro) work in both languages: site: / сайт:, folder: / папка:, role:me|ai / роль:я|ии, has:code / есть:код, and more.
• Full-text search in the free version on the current site, with no daily cap.
• Jump to the matching message in a long chat, highlighted.
• Trial without a card: 7 days of Pro.
• The trial ending deletes nothing. All folders stay and keep working; new chats keep being saved on two sites you choose.
• Chat texts stay in your browser. Our server receives only your key, a random device ID, the browser and the extension version; chat text — never.
• Full JSON data download — "Download everything (JSON)", on every plan; files up to 25 MB are restorable in the current version. Export to Markdown and other formats — coming soon.

Where competitors are stronger today:

• Number of sites. Chatsavo works on ChatGPT and Claude today. Gemini, Grok and Alice are in testing; DeepSeek, Perplexity and GigaChat come later. AI Toolbox and Sortbase already cover four AIs, Echoes seven.
• Sync across devices. AI Toolbox has it even on the free tier. Ours will come later, end-to-end encrypted.
• Bulk actions. You can't yet select a hundred chats and file them at once — that's in the next updates.
• Prompts. A prompt library in the panel and "/" insertion are coming in the next updates. In Superpower and AI Chat Organizer these are mature features.
• Safari. NorthLab has it; we don't.
• Breadth inside ChatGPT. Prompt chains, conversation maps and Superpower's other extras aren't on our roadmap.

How to choose
